“ A big renal mass was detected in my left Kidney while undergoing Sonography during a whole body checkup. I then consulted Dr. Saurabh Patil at Fortis hospital for the same. He advised to get the renal mass removed from the body at the earliest through Robotic surgery. At that time it was not confirmed whether it is cancerous or not. I was skeptical initially about the surgery because I did not have any symptoms as such except weight loss. I was perfectly fine in doing my routine work. Then I went for CT scan (plain and contrast) to have better idea about the mass. CT scan report suggested it is highly likely that it is Renal Cell Cancer. I met Dr. Patil again and booked an appointment for Robotic surgery to get it removed asap so I could focus on my job and life. The surgery was successfully performed under general anesthesia. I did not feel any pain post operation as it was a robot assisted surgery. I had some nausea/giddiness because of anesthesia which is expected. I was discharged on the 3rd day after the surgery. “ I am very glad to share my experience of undergoing treatment under the expert hands of respected Dr Saurabh Patil. I, like many others, was leading a normal life at 57, with controlled BP, Cholestrol and Sugar complaints. Due to my job routines , I had a life style of less physical exercise leading to obesity and joint pains. But never ever I dreamt of any major diseases. It was then a few months before due to increased PSA level my urologist suggested for a biopsy. I do was feeling obstruction while passing urine for sometime. Defying all my positive expectations I had to digest the fact of having a grade 2 prostrate cancer. Suddenly it plunged me in turmoil due to ignorance of many things and felt bleak and isolated. “ I have to post 2 reviews for the experiences we had with Dr. Saurabh Patil Sir. First one is related to my Father. My father was suffering from frequent urination. Other hospitals and doctors were insisting on immediate prostate gland operation to cure the same. So we had made up our mind to go for the operation. Just before going for operation, we decided to get one more opinion. After some research, we decided to consult Dr. Saurabh Patil from Fortis Hospital and to our surprise, he simply said that there is NO need to operate at all. He just advised change in the medication which cured the problem of frequent urination within couple of days. So our family has developed full faith in Dr. Saurabh Patil and we are thankful and grateful for his advice and the treatment which saved us from unnecessary surgery and pain. Another review is for our 2nd patient. This time my father-in-law had difficulty in passing urination. So we consulted Dr. Saurabh Patil and started our investigation at Fortis hospital. During sonography and CT scan, we found another problem and that was a tumor attached to one of the kidneys and it was predicted as Renal Cancer. My Father-in-law being an employee of a Govt organization which has their own set up of hospitals and tie ups with other specialty Govt hospitals for treating their employees, first we got their advice as the operation and all the treatment would have been free of cost. But there we were told that the affected Kidney cannot be saved. And due to old age (80 years) of the patient and complexity involved in the operation, there are chances of the patient dying on the operation table. It was a big shock for us. And unfortunately, their Govt hospitals neither carry out Robotic Operation themselves nor give any referral / credit letter to other on panel private hospitals to do so. Hence, we decided to go for Robotic surgery at our own cost at Fortis under Dr. Saurabh Patil. Hats of to Dr. Saurabh Patil and his team for their perseverance and dedication for conducting almost 7 hours long Partial Nephrectomy operation to finally save the kidney by detaching the tumor successfully. The size of the tumor was beyond our imagination and still they managed to take it out precisely without damaging the kidney. On the next day of the operation, patient was able to walk with little support from physio. We had a 6 day package for this surgery at Fortis. On the sixth day of discharge (4 days post-surgery), the patient was able to walk all by himself and was as normal as he was before the surgery. It was a miraculous lifesaving surgery, and the recovery was unimaginably super-fast due to robotic surgery which calls for less cuts and stiches. This operation happened during Ganapati festival, for us Dr. Saurabh Patil turned out to be our life savior, vighna harta Lord Ganesha. I would like to also appreciate his team of doctors Dr. Pratik, Dr. Hussain and Dr. Srivastava who visited daily to check and confirm good health of the patient. We witnessed highly professional and responsive staff at Fortis. Also they had one personal relationship officer (Miss Vidhi Shetty) talking to us on daily basis to ensure comfortable, smooth and problem free experience at Fortis. “ Dr. Saurabh Patil is an amazing doctor. I had already undergone partial nephrectomy in a hospital in Guwahati, Assam which was not successful. Doctor in that hospital did not perform the surgery successfully and had only given one option that my whole left kidney will need to be removed for which I will need to undergo under major surgery. “ It’s like a dream today when I reminisce my first meeting consultation with Dr Saurab Patil on 26th Nov 2021 with my CT scan of Kidney showing up a huge tumour growing atop my left kidney pole, later found to be Renal Cell Carcinoma grade 2. I am a trained microbiologist and cell culturist, so was already aware of my particular malady. But the way Dr Patil went about explaining my condition, drawing a picture, highlighting the pros and cons based on historical data of similar cases was exemplary. No frills , no condescension, no airs… but simple to the point empathetic and above all patient explanations. Time is of no concern to him except the comfort and confidence of the patient .. He recommended immediate robotic surgery, which I took up and was operated on the 2nd of December..From preparing me for the surgery on the eve , keeping my wife and daughters informed .. and the post surgery care Dr Saurabh provided were remarkable and different from what we are used to with other medical professionals. The robotic surgery itself went very well, and I was sent off to home cured and minus my left kidney and tumour on 6th December! It's important to get the prostate cancer diagnosed at an early stage. Even at later stage, robotics surgery is a boon to the patients with accurate surgery with precision and least of incision. He operated my father for this using Robotic surgery Once it was decided to go for surgery he discussed in detail about all the available options , like open surgery , laser and Robotic one we decided to go with Robotic one . Honestly speaking initially we were not comfortable choosing for Robotic rather was skeptical about it . However whatever. Dr Patil said came true , post surgery very next day my father was able to do things on his own , we could see he was getting recovered faster. Due to all this we were quiet relaxed and comfortable. It is true whenever there new things introduced we all are in doubt unless and until we try it out or we have someone close experienced it . My experience with all this was great , things were less stressful for me and my family and I think Robotic is a new way forward !! Last but not the least a big thank you to Dr Saurabh Patil and his team making it easier for us.

The consultation and guidance we got from Dr Saurabh Patil was in detail to know status of Prostate Cancer. On our consent Dr Patil removed my prostate by Robotic Surgery. Surgery was very good, not much pain, on 2nd day I was walking. The recovery was very fast. Overall treatment was very good and satisfactory. AFTER REMOVAL OF CATHETER, DIAPER WAS NOT REQUIRED FROM DAY ONE TO ME.

I just got my PSA done after the surgery and to my delight, reports are normal, well within the limits. For the benefit of those having Prostrate related issues, I narrate my experience as below: My medical checkup showed much high PSA level, so I contacted a Urologist at Bethany, Thane. Since, initial tests of 'Sonography' and 'bladder clearance' reports were normal, Dr. Atul Mokashi suggested to repeat the PSA test after 6-8 months. However, the PSA levels were still high and he suggested further investigation. MRI indicated presence of localised lesion and Biopsy & PET-scan confirmed of malignancy. Dr. Mokashi suggested for immediate Prostatectomy. Since the Robotic surgery facility is not available at Bethany, he referred to Dr. Saurabh Patil of Fortis, Mulund, Mumbai, for which I will always remain obliged to Dr. Mokashi. Initially, I was skeptical but after meeting Dr. Patil all my inhibition vanished. Dr. Patil was like God sent to us. He made us comfortable and removed all the worries we had. We found Dr. Saurabh Patil very professional, knowledgeable, calm and very down to earth. He took pains to explain (over one hour) the reasons, surgery procedure and after effects of the surgery. He also answered all our queries and addressed all doubts. He also explained the pros and cons of alternate therapy. The Robotic surgery was successful and I found the procedure quite safe and reliable. Recovery too is very fast. I am able to perform most of my activities within 6 weeks of surgery like brisk walking, playing badminton. During the hospitalisation and surgery, I find all the support staff of Dr. Patil very helpful and humane. Even after returning home, Dr. Patil had been periodically inquiring about my progress and addressed the queries I had, during the recovery phase. My sincere thanks to Dr. Saurabh Patil and Dr. Atul Mokashi.

I am age 61 ( CABG history), diagnosed Prostatic Acinar Carcinoma - Grade Group-1 in Nov-2021. The relevance of Cancer in my case was very shocking to me as there was no prior indication except recent UTI problem. However, considering the nature of the problem, I consulted Dr. Saurabh R.
